After reaching middle age, one experiences the pain of losing a wife. The once comfortable and reassuring home now feels empty and lifeless. After his wife's death, furniture repair shop owner Shuuhei Shiina (played by Hidetoshi Nishijima) spends his days only with his seven kittens. However, compared to his wife Yoko (played by Miki Sakai), who lovingly cared for the little ones, Shuuhei feels somewhat inadequate. Therefore, he thinks about finding new owners for the kittens. During this time, his childhood friend, veterinarian Misaki Fujimura (played by Michiko Kichise), often visits Shuuhei and the kittens. Upon learning of his intentions, she actively assists in finding cat lovers willing to adopt the kittens. This sets off a chain of events where various strangers, each with their own life stories, come into contact with Shuuhei, Misaki, and the kittens, intertwining their tales...
