23-year-old Shimu works as a textile worker in a garment factory in Dhaka, Bangladesh. As a woman worker, Shimu and her female colleagues often face various forms of inequality at work, which inspires her to change everything. She rallies the female workers who share the same unfortunate experiences to establish a union. While seeking legal rights from the factory, she must confront threats from management and strong opposition from her husband. Isolated and unsupported, Shimu chooses to go against the odds. Women can only find a way forward through self-empowerment.
