Mayu Omono (played by Yuki Chiba) was born into a family of detectives; her father, Shiro (portrayed by Sansei Shiomi), was once a prominent figure in the police force. Shuhei Katagiri (played by Kazuki Sawamura) is Mayu's partner and also a former disciple of Shiro. Their personalities complement each other, enabling seamless cooperation. A body of a man named Kato Chikichi (played by Tadashi Kaneko) is discovered lying in the snowfields of Kushiro. Mayu and Shuhei take on the investigation, only to unexpectedly find that Kato has deep connections to Shiro from the past. Soon after, a second body surfaces, that of a taxi driver named Takigawa Nobuo (played by Tohru Shinagawa), with the female president Sayuri Yeze (portrayed by Kimiko Yo) also becoming embroiled in the incident. Just when the investigation seems tangled and confusing, a mysterious woman appears and makes a confession of guilt.
