In a chance encounter, popular star Lu Qi (played by Shi Ke) meets the obscure stagehand Xia Yu (played by Abe Li). Lu Qi is tired of the hypocrisy and hype of the entertainment industry and longs for Xia Yu's calm and ordinary life. One day, unable to bear the blinding flashes of the media any longer, Lu Qi storms out, and Xia Yu finds her, bringing her back to his humble rented room. In just a few days, the distance between Lu Qi and Xia Yu narrows, and sparks of affection quickly ignite between them. Eventually, their relationship is exposed, enraging the producer, who instructs a bystander to impersonate a hurt Xia Yu to deceive Lu Qi into making statements favorable for movie marketing. Naive Lu Qi falls for the trick; she not only clarifies her relationship with Xia Yu at a press conference but also admits to a non-existent romance with her rumored boyfriend Li Xiang (played by Qiao Zhenyu). The real Xia Yu watches this heartbreaking press conference, but he believes that Lu Qi's actions must have their own reasons.
