Ann (played by Carol Lynley) and her daughter Bonnie live a life of dependency on each other, with a very close relationship between them. One day, as usual, Ann goes to pick up Bonnie from school, but after waiting for a long time, she still doesn't see her daughter. In her anxiety, Ann calls the police. However, after the police investigation, they find that there is no student named Bonnie at that school, and there are no signs that Bonnie ever lived in Ann's home. Could it all just be a figment of Ann's imagination? As the investigation deepens, the events become even more mysterious, with everyone seeing Ann as a mentally unstable woman with delusions, yet Ann is very sure that Bonnie truly exists.
