Ann (played by Carol Lynley) and her daughter Bonnie live a life of dependency on each other, with a very close relationship between them. One day, as usual, Ann goes to pick up Bonnie from school, but after waiting for a long time, she still doesn't see her daughter. In her anxiety, Ann calls the police.
