University professor Seiji Nakahara (played by Masakazu Tamura) has a beloved daughter, Yukiko, who is brutally murdered by Kenji Iwasaki (played by Akihiro Nakao). Although Iwasaki confesses, the court does not accept his confession due to allegations of police violence during the interrogation, ultimately leading to Iwasaki's acquittal. This verdict deeply shocks the Nakahara couple, and shortly after, Yukiko's mother falls into despair. Unable to suppress his inner hatred, Nakahara resolves to take action against his daughter's murderer and the corrupt Japanese judicial system. After a torturous silence, Nakahara finally shoots Iwasaki one night. Following this, Nobuko Ogata (played by Yuko Takeuchi), who switched careers to become a lawyer in dissatisfaction with the prosecutor's cowardice, takes on Nakahara's defense.
