The film tells the story of a daughter torn between two mothers: her adoptive mother Tina, who raised her with love, and her biological mother Angelica, with whom she shares a blood relationship. The three are bonded by love and pain, but how should the daughter, trapped by love, choose, and how should their identities be defined? Although director Laura Bispuri has only directed three feature films, this nomination marks her second at the Berlin Film Festival for the Golden Bear, following her film "Sworn Virgin."
