The Kouryu-do, located in Osaka, originally started as a wholesale herbal medicine supplier and gradually became known far and wide for its specially formulated pills. By the time of the second generation, two disciple rivals could not concede defeat, leading to a split in Kouryu-do, with both sides operating across the street from one another, each claiming to be the "origin" and the "main house," engaging in a covert feud for many years.
