The largest statue of Jesus in the world is under construction at the edge of the city, and the life of the male protagonist, Jacek, is completely derailed after a work-related accident leaves him disfigured. The Polish media eagerly follows the developments, as Jacek becomes the first person in the country to undergo skin graft surgery. He could become a national hero or martyr, but he can no longer recognize the person in the mirror. Meanwhile, the statue of Jesus continues to rise higher and higher.
