In an ordinary rural town, Fujigawa Kota (played by Satoshi Ohno), who is about to turn thirty, lives a simple life with his father Kenjiro (played by Tomokazu Miura), mother Yasuko (played by Kayoko Kishimoto), sister Koharu (played by Mimura), and girlfriend Tabane Etsuko (played by Fumino Kimura). After dropping out of university, he struggles to find work and feels lost about his future, never imagining that the end of life would appear so swiftly before him. Kota is diagnosed with malignant lymphoma with a 20% mortality rate and is forced to be hospitalized for treatment. During this time, fellow patient Nobuo (played by Ryosuke Yamada) and psychological counselor Yuriko Okubo (played by Kyoko Fukada) give him tremendous confidence. With a successful blood type match, it seems that fate smiles upon this young man once again...This film is adapted from a work by Koaya Yukinaga.
