The Clone Wars have been going on for three years, and the Republic is on the verge of victory. General Grievous of the Separatist Alliance and Count Dooku (portrayed by Christopher Lee) have kidnapped Chancellor Palpatine (portrayed by Ian McDiarmid) and are on the run. Jedi Knights Obi-Wan Kenobi (portrayed by Ewan McGregor) and Anakin (portrayed by Hayden Christensen) are ordered by the Council to rescue him. Anakin kills Count Dooku to save Palpatine, but General Grievous escapes. Anakin has a vision of his wife Padmé (portrayed by Natalie Portman) dying in childbirth and, confused, seeks help from Palpatine, who uses this opportunity to sow discord between Anakin and the Jedi Council. As Anakin grows closer to Palpatine, a conspiracy against the Jedi and the democracy they protect begins to unfold. This film was nominated for Best Makeup at the 78th Academy Awards in 2006 and was nominated for a Grammy for Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media.
