The prominent businessman Takayoshi Ichihara (played by Sōichirō Kitamura) has passed away, and his relatives gather at the upscale Japanese inn "Corridor Pavilion" to hold a seven-day mourning ceremony, with their main concern being the distribution of his inheritance. Each person harbors their own ulterior motives, eager to gain the maximum benefit, while being particularly wary of each other's schemes, rendering so-called familial bonds insignificant. At this critical moment, a mysterious and beautiful woman suddenly appears before the Ichihara family; she claims to be Miyako Honma (played by Takako Tokiwa), the daughter of an old woman who had a significant connection with the deceased. In the stillness of night, those greedy individuals who dream of wealth do not receive their inheritance but instead are visited by the Grim Reaper.
