Living in New York, Rebecca Bloomwood (Isla Fisher) is a journalist for a home and garden magazine. In this bustling and vibrant international metropolis, the beautiful girl's insatiable shopping desires are greatly unleashed, bringing a constant stream of impractical clothing back home. However, the flip side is mounting debt. Her poor financial situation turns her life into chaos; although she tries to kick her shopping addiction, she ultimately succumbs in front of her desired products. On the other hand, Rebecca hopes to work for her dream magazine, Alette, but mistakenly ends up in a finance magazine under the same publishing house. Knowing nothing about finance, she occasionally writes a uniquely angled investment article that earns her praise from readers and industry insiders, and love soon follows. However, lies always get exposed, especially with the heavy burden of debt looming over her... This film is adapted from the "Shopaholic" series by British author Sophie Kinsella.
