Young Kaneko Tohhei (played by Ryo Kase) takes the subway during rush hour, heading to an interview at a company introduced by a senior. Unexpectedly, when he gets off at Anegawa Station, a female middle school student grabs him and claims he is a "pervert," leading to his arrest. Under intense questioning by the police, Tohhei insists that he has not committed any crime. However, the lawyer tells Tohhei that if he denies the crime, he will face detention, and if prosecuted, the consequences will be even more severe. This unexpected misfortune leaves Tohhei feeling lost, while his mother Toyoko (played by Masako Natsukawa) and friend Saito Tatsu (played by Koji Yamamoto) seek help to clear his name. They receive assistance from veteran lawyer Arakawa Masayoshi (played by Hiroshi Yakusho) and young attorney Sudou Riko (played by Asaka Seto), leading to a courtroom debate that will decide Tohhei's fate.
