An original documentary produced by IMAX   At the Chengdu Panda Base in China, scientists are committed to breeding adult pandas and introducing cubs into the wild.   The film focuses on a passionate researcher who has developed a new technology inspired by a black bear program in rural New Hampshire, USA. An American biologist comes across borders, along with a scientist from Inner Mongolia and a curious female panda cub named "Qianqian," raised in captivity, embark on a transnational collaboration to change the lives of pandas.   Filmed with IMAX cameras, the documentary captures Qianqian's exciting new journey as she steps out of the protected habitat into the mountains of Sichuan, discovering the nature of animals, even though she faces the challenges of an uncertain future.   Directed by David Douglas and Drew Fellman (creators of "Born to Be Wild" and "Madagascar: Island of the Lemurs"), with Fellman writing the script and producing, Douglas also serving as cinematographer, produced by Donald Kushner and Steve Ransohoff, and executive produced by Li Gen Xiong and Elie Samaha, with Neal Allen as the online producer.   The film is rated G and will be released in select IMAX and IMAX 3D theaters in North America starting April 6, 2018.
