During the 1930s, in Marseilles, France, two small time crooks work for local crime bosses until they decide to go into business for themselves. This film is the second movie produced by Alain Delon himself (the first was JEFF), a successful collaboration with another French cinema legend, Jean-Paul Belmondo (they hold similar status in the French film industry, like twin stars). It was the highest-grossing film in French history at that time.
