A ship is docked at Brest Harbor, where a handsome sailor named Quereel (played by Brad Davis) is aboard. He is secretly admired by the ship's Major Serlon (Franco Nero) and has an ambiguous relationship with Captain Robert (Hanno Pöschl); he flirts with the local bar owner Nono (Günther Kaufmann), intentionally losing at dice games to engage with him; he deals drugs and even kills a partner, with police officer Mario (Burkhard Driest) on his tail, who becomes infatuated with him; the young man Gil (Hanno Pöschl) also falls for him and is framed for murder by him; Nono’s wife Lucina (Jeanne Moreau) is also very interested in him...
