"The Poster Artist" is a documentary film about Hong Kong artist Mr. Ruan Dayong, covering his life, works, artistic achievements, and his impact and contributions to Chinese-language film culture. Ruan Dayong was born in 1941 in Zhejiang Province and moved to Hong Kong with his father in the 1950s. He rose to fame in 1976 with his hand-drawn poster for the film "Half a Pound, Half a Pound," and has created over 200 posters since.
