The story takes place during Japan's Warring States period, where the samurai Ijiri Yōbe (played by Sōkōgon) and Princess Kōta of Kasuga (played by Aragaki Yui) are deeply in love, but their differing social classes keep them apart, forcing them to hide their feelings deep within. By chance, Yōbe meets a boy named Shinichi (played by Takei Shō) who surprises Yōbe by claiming to come from the future. At Princess Kōta's request, Yōbe becomes Shinichi's guardian, while Princess Kōta is about to enter a political marriage with the powerful lord Okura Shigetaka (played by Ōsawa Takafumi). Returning to modern times, Shinichi’s disappearance causes great anxiety for his parents, Akira (played by Tsutsui Michitaka) and Misako (played by Nakagawa Kōko), who, following clues left by Shinichi, find themselves transported back to the ancient times, where they reunite with Shinichi, becoming honored guests in the Kasuga Castle.
