The evergreen Japanese animation "Miss Hamao" is being adapted into a live-action format once again! The special drama "The People of the Isino Family ~ Miss Hamao 20 Years Later ~", starring Yuki Amami, Hidetoshi Nishijima, Gaku Hamada, and Mayu Matsuoka, will air on Fuji TV at 8 PM on November 24. This marks a special project to celebrate Fuji TV's 60th anniversary and the 50th anniversary of the animation "Miss Hamao." The special drama is set 20 years after the animation and tells the story of Miss Hamao, who runs around trying to bring back the smiles of the Isino family as family gatherings have decreased and children face harsh societal conditions. Yuki Amami plays the 44-year-old Miss Hamao, Hidetoshi Nishijima portrays her husband, the middle management worker Fugu Tadada, Gaku Hamada plays the 31-year-old Isino Katsuo, who faces setbacks in his dreams, while Mayu Matsuoka plays Isino Kaki, who is troubled by her work as a fashion designer, and Ryo Narita plays Miss Hamao's son, Fugu Taraka, who struggles to find a job. Additionally, the head of the Isino family, Narihira, is played by Yasuto Ibu, and Miss Hamao's mother, Isino Fune, is portrayed by Yoshie Ichimura. The special drama is directed by Masayuki Suzuki (known for "Kamen Restaurant" and "Long Vacation") and written by Tomoko Akutsumi.
