The British female filmmaker Sue in the film is played by Alice Patten, the daughter of the last Governor of Hong Kong, Chris Patten. The British officer who suppressed the Indian revolutionaries was moved by their indomitable spirit, leaving behind a diary documenting the circumstances of that time. Many years later, his granddaughter Sue (played by Alice Patten) is deeply touched upon reading the diary. Fueled by passion, she quits her job at a film company and goes to India to shoot a documentary about that historical period. Sue casts students from Delhi University. A group of energetic young people, who, like many others, have lost hope in India, come into her view. At the start of filming, the students are immersed in a hedonistic lifestyle and struggle to understand the sacrifices made by the revolutionaries of that time, causing delays in truly connecting with their roles. Tragedy strikes when the corruption of the defense minister leads to a plane crash involving their friend, pilot Ajay (played by Madhavan). Ajay sacrifices his life to prevent civilian casualties, but his reputation suffers due to the government's duplicity after his death. The real culprits remain unpunished. The young men suddenly realize that their passion begins to boil for their wrongfully lost friend and their troubled motherland...
