Emily (played by Evanna Lynch) has been a girl filled with quirky ideas since she was little. She doesn't play by the rules, and both she and her eccentric parents are seen as outcasts by others. After her mother passes away, Emily's father (Michael Smiley) is sent to a mental hospital, and Emily is placed in a strange foster home, making her even more peculiar and withdrawn. One day, Emily encounters a boy named Aiden (George Webster), who is instantly captivated by her mysterious aura, unlike anyone else. Emily tells Aiden that she wants to go to the mental hospital to find her father, and willing to do anything for Emily, Aiden steals his grandfather's car, and the two set off on their journey.
