The little-known police officer Sun Dasheng (played by Wang Qianyuan) risks his life on the front lines of investigations. On an ordinary day, he suddenly hears that Zhao Yongqiang, a car mechanic he had a friendship with, has committed suicide by jumping off a building. Zhao Yongqiang had been renting a house slated for demolition, but one night it was forcibly torn down, causing him and his son to be evicted without warning, losing their prepaid rent as well.
