This film tells a Romeo and Juliet-style love story set in the 19th century. The story takes place against the backdrop of the famous Mountain Meadows Massacre that occurred on September 11, 1857, in American history. A wagon train heading to California passes through southern Utah, where Mormons discover that some members of the group participated in the 1838 Haun's Mill massacre, which forcibly expelled Mormons from Missouri under an extermination order.
