Boruto Uzumaki (voiced by Yuko Sanpei) is the son of the seventh Hokage, Naruto Uzumaki (voiced by Junko Takeuchi), but he does not take pride in his father and their relationship is filled with misunderstandings. In order to surpass his father, Boruto seeks to apprentice under Sasuke Uchiha (voiced by Noriaki Sugiyama). Meanwhile, Boruto teams up with Sasuke's daughter Sarada (voiced by Chihiro Ishida) and Mitsuki (voiced by Takahiro Sakurai) to participate in the Chunin Exams. As the exams begin, Boruto's eagerness to win leads to unexpected events when the mysterious antagonists Kinshiki and Momoshiki Ōtsutsuki launch a surprise attack, putting Naruto in a crisis while trying to protect the Hidden Leaf Village. Boruto starts to reevaluate his father, and alongside Sasuke and Gaara, who are Naruto's old friends, he begins the fight to save him.
