Awei (played by Xin Bi) is a native Hong Kong man who is deeply passionate about movies. Before 1997, he went to the UK to study film. He planned to return to Hong Kong after graduation and make a name for himself, just in time for the handover of Hong Kong. Suddenly, with the transfer of sovereignty, times changed, the economy faltered, and the film industry hit rock bottom.
