The death of his wife leaves Gaur (Kevin Spacey) despondent, and he doesn't want to live for even a minute without her. At the urging of his Aunt Agnes (Judi Dench), the disheartened Gaur returns to his seaside hometown with his daughter Bonnie (Alyssa Gainer). There, Gaur takes a job as a reporter, specializing in maritime news. Contrary to his expectations, the unfamiliar environment, the eerie old house, and the treacherous terrain deepen Gaur's depression. However, as time goes by, he begins to develop feelings for everything he once despised. Meanwhile, the arrival of the beautiful woman Vivienne (Julianne Moore) stirs long-buried feelings of tenderness and love in Gaur; there is no emotional pain that cannot be healed, and everything is moving in a positive direction.
