Rose Elliott, a poet living in New York (played by Irene Miracle), one day purchases an architecture book written in Latin at an antique bookstore. The book claims that there were three evil mothers in the world, spreading terror and pain, ultimately manifesting in three buildings designed by architects in Rome, New York, and Freiburg, Germany. Rose suspects that her apartment is one of the locations mentioned in the book, and she writes a letter to her brother Mark (played by Leigh McCloskey), who is far away in Rome, before daring to explore the basement on her own. Mark, upon receiving the letter, talks to his sister, but the call is abruptly cut off. He rushes to New York and learns that his sister has disappeared. Reluctantly, Mark begins to investigate the secrets behind this ancient book...
