The story takes place in the 1970s, where 17-year-old nightclub waiter Eddie (played by Mark Wahlberg) possesses a huge secret weapon. By coincidence, he catches the attention of porn director Jack (played by Burt Reynolds). Eddie then adopts the stage name Dirk and, under Jack's guidance, shines in the porn film industry, becoming a superstar of the genre. With their films being box office hits, Jack and Dirk enjoy fame and fortune, leading a life of luxury and excess.
