At school, Luis faces discrimination and bullying from classmates because of his father's undocumented status, and he remains silent when his father asks about it, causing a growing rift between them. To provide a better life for himself and his son, Carlos works hard to earn money. As a gardener, he mainly trims lawns for various wealthy Americans. His boss, wanting to return to his home country, sells his used pickup truck and necessary gardening tools. Hoping to earn more, Carlos borrows money from his sister to buy a discarded old truck and the essential tools. However, one day, the old truck that Carlos depends on for survival is stolen by a local hoodlum, Santiago (played by Carlos Linares). In his desperation, father and son finally have an honest conversation, rekindling their previous bond. Together, they embark on a journey to find the stolen truck…
