The season is spring. The ceremony to select the crown prince’s consort, "The Rite of Ascension," has begun. The princess of the South family, Hamayuu; the princess of the West family, Masuhonosusuki; the princess of the North family, Shiratama; and the princess of the East family, Asebi, who has come in place of her ailing sister. Only one among these four will be chosen as the wife of the next ruler of the mountains, the future "Golden Crow."
