A new lawyer, Wakaba Natsukawa (portrayed by Aragaki Yui), comes from a poor background but has a strong personality. On her first day at work, her female boss, Sakura Masako (portrayed by Yakushimaru Hiroko), entrusts her with the care of her 5-year-old daughter, Sakura Hinata (portrayed by Tani Kanon). As a result, Wakaba has to manage Hinata's schedule and encounters the popular single father among the kids, Sota Yamada (portrayed by Nishikido Ryo), at kindergarten. Due to a previous misunderstanding, Wakaba has had a negative impression of Sota. However, after a series of events, she gradually realizes that Sota is a responsible and gentle family man. Despite actually caring more about Sota as time goes on, the strong-willed Wakaba dreams of a successful life, but Sota, who has no property, no housing, and no education, cannot provide that for her. Unable to settle for a mundane life, Wakaba struggles with her feelings for Sota and refuses to admit them. Their relationship is full of ups and downs. The love story between a strong woman and a weaker man quietly unfolds with the help of children, filled with bittersweet moments and warmth.
