He is full of ideas but lacks persistence in everything, disappointing his father, Shūzō (played by Sugimoto Tetta). After finally being arranged to marry a woman who would come into the family, Akizō initially works hard and is in love with his wife Toshiko (played by Kuroki Haru), but eventually grows dissatisfied with his mundane and boring life, leading him to follow Sergeant Tanabe (played by Itō Eiki) in the army to learn cooking, even going so far as to break off relations with his father-in-law to go to Tokyo to study culinary arts. During this time, the appearances of Usami (played by Kobayashi Kaoru) and Iogaki (played by Katō Masaya) push Akizō towards a change in fate. He focuses on honing his culinary skills and moves toward a bright future...This film is adapted from a novel written by Sugimori Hisahide based on the story of Akiyama Tokuzō, the head chef of the Imperial Household Agency.
