The documentary tells the story of five Chinese teachers conducting a four-week Chinese-style teaching experiment at a secondary school in Hampshire, Southern England. Chinese-style teaching is characterized by strictness and long hours. Chinese students often rank high in some well-known international exams. But is it feasible to educate British secondary school students using Chinese teaching methods? What do the participating teachers and students think? What are their experiences? First, as part of the experiment, the Chinese teachers took over a 9th-grade class of 50 students. During the four weeks, these students had to wear a uniform, arrive at school by 7 AM, and have school days lasting up to 12 hours, with two meal breaks in between. There was also a weekly ceremony to raise the Chinese national flag. In class, the focus was mainly on note-taking, along with collective exercises. Students were also responsible for cleaning the classroom, among other tasks.
