The gangster crime drama "City on a Hill," produced by Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, features gang members, with actor Jonathan Tucker ("Kingdom," "American Gods") and Kevin Dunn ("Transformers 1," "True Detective") joining the cast. The story idea comes from Affleck and Boston's Chuck MacLean, set against the backdrop of a fictional program, "Boston Miracle," aimed at reducing youth gun violence in the early 1990s. It tells the story of a local prosecutor from Brooklyn, Decourcy Ward (played by Aldis Hodge), teaming up with a corrupt but still respected FBI veteran, Jackie Rhodes (played by Kevin Bacon), to take down a car theft family. Tucker plays one of the targets—Frankie Ryan, who appears to be just an ordinary blue-collar worker in Boston with a wife and kids, and a brother named Jimmy (played by Mark O'Brien), but in reality, Frankie is the leader of the car theft gang Two Saints. Dunn plays Nathan Rey, an assistant prosecutor in Suffolk County, who is politically savvy and Ward's supervisor. The series is directed by Michael Cuesta ("Homeland"), who replaces the originally planned director Gavin O'Connor, who left to direct "Suicide Squad 2." Filming will begin this month in Boston.
