A comedy by BBC about the Metropolitan Police's "Cold Case" department. The head of the group is DS Sandra Pullman, and since it deals with old cases, she recruits three retired detectives: Jack, who buries his deceased wife in the backyard and chats with her every day; Gary, once a notorious womanizer, now has to have dinner with three ex-wives and four daughters; and Brian, an obsessive-compulsive, former alcoholic, and conspiracy theorist. The title is derived from an old saying: “You can't teach an old dog new tricks.” Yet these old guys manage to use their experience and skills to solve cases that seem to require the outdated old tricks.
