DC animated film, adapted from "Gotham by Gaslight," "Batman: Gotham by Gaslight" is the first work in DC's "Elseworlds" series, which also includes "Western Batman." Set against the backdrop of "Sherlock Holmes" in the 19th century, it features the wealthy Bruce Wayne and his butler Alfred, with Batman's greatest adversary being the notorious "Jack the Ripper," who terrifies the London police. Like the original comic, the story is set in the 19th century and follows Batman as he tracks down "Jack the Ripper," filled with a steampunk aesthetic.
