Gon’s father is a top Hunter, but he left when Gon was very young. Many years later, the naturally gifted and kind-hearted Gon decides to become a Hunter himself in order to search for his long-lost father. During the process of obtaining his Hunter license, Gon meets Killua, who comes from a family of assassins; Kurapika, the last survivor of the Kurta Clan; and Leorio, who wants to become a doctor to help the poor. He also forms a somewhat adversarial yet friendly relationship with Hisoka, a mysterious magician who sees strong individuals as prey. After facing numerous challenges, Gon successfully obtains his Hunter license, but for him, the real test is just beginning.
