"Seeking Flavors in Shunde" is produced by the main team behind "A Bite of China," with Chen Xiaoqing, the general director of the "A Bite of China" series and head of the project operations department of CCTV Documentary Channel, serving as the chief consultant. Liu Shuo and Fei Youming, directors of the second season's "Secret Realm," co-directed the film; renowned voice-over artist and narrator of the "A Bite of China" series, Li Lihong, served as the narrator. A large advisory team composed of top experts and scholars in various fields such as cultural studies, anthropology, and culinary arts provided exceptional creativity and professional support for the film. "Today is the Grain Rain. A year ago, this documentary began shooting in Shunde. We traveled through every street and alley, and every day we were surprised by what Shunde had to offer," said Liu Shuo and Fei Youming, who gathered 36,000 minutes of raw footage, ultimately editing it down to 150 minutes of "Seeking Flavors in Shunde." During this process, the production team experienced many unexpected hardships. "In this three-part documentary, we not only aim to tell the story of the rich traditions in the Pearl River Delta and pay tribute to the wisdom of our ancestors, but more importantly, to express a theme: finding the strength to move forward within the culinary traditions." They stated that as the directors of the second season of "A Bite of China," creating "Seeking Flavors in Shunde" provided another rare opportunity for growth, allowing them to systematically study the standardized production of media documentaries and truly adhere to international norms and standards at every stage of the creative process.
