The gangster crime drama "City on a Hill," created by Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, features gang members, with actor Jonathan Tucker ("Kingdom," "American Gods") and Kevin Dunn ("Transformers 1," "True Detective") joining the cast. The story idea comes from Affleck and fellow Bostonian Chuck MacLean, and is set against the backdrop of a fictional initiative called "The Boston Miracle" aimed at reducing youth gun violence in the early 1990s. It follows a local prosecutor from Brooklyn, Decourcy Ward (played by Aldis Hodge), and a corrupt yet respected FBI veteran, Jackie Rhodes (played by Kevin Bacon), as they team up to take down a carjacking gang. Tucker plays one of the targets they are after—Frankie Ryan, who appears to be an ordinary blue-collar worker in Boston with a wife and child, and a brother named Jimmy (played by Mark O'Brien). In reality, Frankie is the leader of the carjacking gang called the Two Saints. Dunn plays Nathan Rey, an assistant district attorney from Suffolk County with a sharp political mind and is also Ward's superior. The series is directed by Michael Cuesta ("Homeland"), who replaced the originally planned director Gavin O'Connor, who left to direct "Suicide Squad 2." Filming is set to begin this month in Boston.
