The action superstar Errol Flynn, known for his portrayals of swashbucklers, plays the British pirate captain nicknamed "The Sea Hawk." During the 17th century conflict between England and Spain, he orders the sinking of a French warship carrying the ambassador and frees a group of British captives who were enslaved onboard, bringing trouble upon himself. However, his justice and bravery win him the love of the ambassador's daughter.
