This film is based on the true experiences of the infamous outlaw couple Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow in American history. During the Great Depression in 1930, Bonnie Parker (played by Faye Dunaway) sees Clyde Barrow (played by Warren Beatty) stealing her mother's car at her mother's home in a small town west of Dallas, Texas. Clyde falls in love with Bonnie at first sight, boasting to her that he has been imprisoned for armed robbery and robs a local supermarket right in front of her. From then on, the two become partners in crime, living a life of robbery as they travel through Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Oklahoma. They are joined by a mechanic named Moss (played by Michael J. Pollard) and Clyde's brother Buck Barrow (played by Gene Hackman) along with his wife Blanche (played by Estelle Parsons), forming the Barrow Gang, which gained notoriety. The film received eight Academy Award nominations in 1968, including Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Costume Design, Best Director, Best Picture, and Best Screenplay, winning the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress (Estelle Parsons) and Best Cinematography.
