Anderson (played by Eric Tsang), who built his career on a squabbling pigeon shop, goes to Shanghai to start a business but becomes obsessed with real estate, driving his wife to her death without any remorse. One day, Anderson accidentally hears some "insider information" from washed-up actor Pan Zhiqiang (played by Huang Bo), who is endorsing a new property project called "Bishui Yunjun," while in a cinema. He decides to raise funds again to pre-purchase a new house. Meanwhile, the newly married former salesgirl Luo Xi (played by Yao Chen) pays a deposit of fifty thousand for Bishui Yunjun, only to be shocked by the numerous pollution sources surrounding the development. Pan Zhiqiang, acting as the host for the project and helping the sales company, hopes they will invest in his new film. However, he is troubled by Luo Xi’s demand for a deposit refund. Pan Zhiqiang then devises a plan for Luo Xi to resell the house to Anderson. After the deal is done, he goes back on his word and refuses to refund the deposit. Luo Xi, left with no choice, exposes the insider information about the property, triggering a chain reaction that makes Pan Zhiqiang and Anderson realize they have fallen into the developers' trap, leading them to desperately seek a way out…
