The BBC documentary "The Sadness of Purebred Dogs" highlights the serious health problems suffered by many purebred dogs. For decades, humans have inbred purebred dogs for dog shows and the so-called "superior lineage," resulting in numerous lifethreatening conditions in various breeds, from epilepsy to cancer. The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel cannot accommodate its brain due to a skull that is too small; the peculiar shape of Bulldogs prevents them from mating naturally; Golden Retrievers are highly susceptible to cancer… Lives under human control are not products, there are no standards of quality or inferiority; they are born equal, and they all have the right to live.
