Mahan (played by Shahrukh Khan) is an Indian man working and living in the United States. After living apart from his family for many years, Mahan feels incredibly lonely and misses his nurse back home. One day, he decides to embark on a journey to return home, only to find upon arrival that things have changed; his nurse has already gone to a village called "Land of Footprints." Thus, Mahan hits the road once more. Along the way, he encounters a beautiful Indian girl named Geet (played by Gayatri Joshi), and they fall in love. Mahan wants to take Geet to the United States, but her family insists that they must complete their wedding ceremony locally. Consequently, Mahan settles down in Geet's hometown, and after spending time with the locals, he discovers that this seemingly peaceful village actually harbors many hidden dangers and conflicts.
