Sixteen-year-old Alex (Paula Beer) has always lived in a very discordant family, with parents who argue incessantly. One day, unable to bear it any longer, Alex erupts, and the consequence is that he is sent to a youth mental health emergency center. In the psychiatric hospital, Alex meets three other companions: 17-year-old Laura (Jella Haase), who has a very tragic past; the exceptionally introverted and shy Feya (Moritz Leu), who has experienced bullying at school; and Dimo (Jannis Niewöhner), who has violent tendencies. They are cared for by a young psychiatrist named Wolf (Clemens Schick), and they will spend a very special Christmas in the psychiatric hospital.
