A comedy by the BBC about the Metropolitan Police's "Cold Case" department. The team is led by female DS Sandra Pullman, and since they are dealing with old cases, they decide to hire three retired detectives: Jack, who buries his deceased wife in the backyard and chats with her every day; Gerry, once a notorious womanizer, is now having dinner with his three ex-wives and four daughters; and Brian, a compulsive, former alcoholic and conspiracy theorist. The title is derived from the saying: "You can't teach an old dog new tricks." However, these old dogs successfully use their experience and skills in the new era, proving that seemingly outdated methods still work on those challenging cases.
