In the 1930s, girl Rui Lian grew up with young master Wan Jin Hong, but because of family prejudice, the master schemed to separate them, marrying Rui Lian off to the widowed fisherman Chen Si Xiang, while Wan Jin Hong went to Hong Kong to develop his career. Shortly after their marriage, Rui Lian discovered she was pregnant and went into premature labor during a typhoon.
