Greg (played by Ben Stiller) is now a father of two. Just as he is enjoying a harmonious and happy life with his family, he receives a call from his stern father-in-law Jack (played by Robert De Niro) on the eve of Christmas, announcing that he will be visiting to see his grandson. Greg reluctantly welcomes his father-in-law and his family. At the same time, his wife Pam's (played by Teri Polo) ex-boyfriend Kevin (played by Owen Wilson) also shows up at their home.
