The film is adapted from the novel "Sorry, I Can't Stay to Watch You Grow Up" and tells the true love story of Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Dana Canedy and officer Charles Monroe King. While serving overseas, Charles wrote a letter to their newborn son, Jordan, to prevent him from dying in the line of duty. This letter aimed to guide his son on how to live a dignified life without a father, and it also contained profound life insights, along with a father's advice and prayers for the son he would never meet.
